Lingon is an editor which allows you to edit startup items on Mac OS X
To remove a startup item, browse to one of these folders:
/Library/LaunchAgents
/Library/LaunchDaemons
/Users/{username}/Library/LaunchAgents/
You will see a file corresponding to the item you wish to remove. Move the file to another folder.
Note: These files are part of launchd
