Healthy Eating Books

So, I often get hungry and want to snack. What I really want is just a list of foods I can eat / snack on which are healthy. It would be perfect – just use it for grocery shopping and then you only have healthy foods in the house – and you can ONLY eat smart.

So I’ve been looking for those books. I started off with Harvard’s “Eat, Drink, and Be Healthy.” It’s good, but very technical and a little long-winded. I then moved to the Abs Diet – which I am very happy with, and today I saw “What To Eat” – which looks ok but not as good as the abs diet.

I still don’t know if any of these are exactly what I’m looking for, but at least I’m on the right track.

How to unobfuscate Javascript

clipped from ferdychristant.com
More and more developers choose to obfuscate their javascript code, whether it is to save space or make it difficult to steal their code. Good for them. However, there may be times when you want to unobfuscate javascript code, particularly when you want to alter a javascript library of which you do not control the source.
Little did I know that this is as simple as alerting the code in Firefox.
Next you can simply copy the content of the alert box to get perfectly formatted javascript. The only caveat is that there is a limit to the string size that can be altered, you may have to alert your code in chunks.
I’m sure there are more high tech solutions to this, but I like this no-tool approach.

Android-based home energy monitor

MOTO Labs will be unveiling their “DIY Android Home Energy Monitor” today at Maker Faire. MOTO’s Daniell Hebert will be giving a talk, “Android Beyond the Phone,” at 3:30pm Sunday, on the main stage. The MOTO Labs booth is 113 in Expo Hall.
So what is the AHEM?

The MOTO DIY Android Home Energy Monitor (AHEM) utilizes an average wireless network. Wireless webcams take pictures of the ever-changing dials on the user’s utility meters. A BeagleBoard running Android and the MOTO AHEM custom applications push the pictures up to a Flickr photo set.

MOTO AHEM application prompts and transcribes numbers into your Flickr image tag. Saving the image spurs the MOTO Labs’ Google Gadget to automatically chart meter activity on the user’s Google home page.

More information can be found here on their website.
